Elena wanted to hold a violin as soon as she saw her first orchestra concert when she was ten. She eventually had the opportunity to do so in sixth grade through the Brownsburg School systems where she played all the way through the Brownsburg Symphony Orchestra for her last three years of high school. Within this orchestra she earned the “musician of the year” award when she was a sophomore. Elena studied violin with Natalie Gain in her studio. Natalie awarded her with the “Student of the year” award at Elena’s first formal recital. She also played on the side with the Hendricks Symphony Community Orchestra for four years before stopping for college.
Elena loves playing solos, in chamber groups, and with a full orchestra. Playing all of these events helps bring out the deepest emotions from the soul. This is why Elena loves teaching the
beginners. Not only does she want them to grow to love the violin and become the best player they can be, but she also loves teaching the students that they can express their emotions through their songs. It is truly a gift to watch the students demonstrate their inner passions. “Where words leave off, music begins”.
Elena currently attends both Ivy Tech and IUPUI Kelly School of Business. She is pursuing a business/entrepreneurship degree so she can one day run her own studio. She discovered this was her passion in life after taking lessons from Natalie Gain and working for her as a teacher’s assistant and intern throughout her last years of high school.
When she’s not working or at class, you can find Elena hiking, fishing, and kayaking with friends and family.
